Guinness Book of Record: Under MGNREGA,in Kokrajhar, 40885 trees were planted by a team of 100 people in 1 Hours at Haltugaon Forest Division in partnership with 135 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Task Force and 15th Battalion of the Dogra Regiment on 29th April, 2012 receiving Certificate of Guinness World Records.

Morigaon district got National Award for effective implementation of MGNREGA program
Morigaon ZP, Agomoni AP, Boitamari AP, Khetri GP, Halakura GP, Mayong GP, Chandrapur GP ans Baghera GP got National Award of Best Panchayat under the National Plan for Technical Assistance of RGPSA with cash prize of Rs.145 Lakh.
Limca Book of Record: Dibrugarh District Administration has registered Nation Record under Limca Book of Record by planting 22,084 roadside saplings on either side of the 56.3 km road in 22 minutes on 7th July 2015.
Out of total 2.40 lakh Gaon Panchayats in the country, Govt of India has selected 10 best Gaon Panchayats for effective implementation of MGNREGA program. Out of these 10 best panchayats, Khetri Gaon Panchayat under Dimoria Block of Kamrup Metro District is one of them. Selection has been made based on some 20 odd criteria like Mobilisation, Registration & Issuance of Job Cards, Planning and Employment Generation and Inclusion of marginalized, Worksite facilities and Wage payment, Grievance Redressal Monitoring, Transparency and accountability and Sustainability of Works, impact on migration natural resources etc. P&RD Department and Khetri Gaon Panchayat will receive this prestigious national ward in the National MGNREGA Sammelan to be held on 2nd Feb 2016 in Delhi.
Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Assam despite constraints and challenges trying to deliver the best of services and implementation of Govt. schemes in the remotest areas of the state. The initiatives and effectiveness of the department is recognized by Govt of India by conferring national awards to the state.
It is a matter of pride that Assam has been assessed as the top performing state in the country in category II for use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to bring in transparency, efficiency and accountability in the functioning of panchayats.
Khetri Gaon Panchayat under Dimoria Block of Kamrup Metro District have been selected among the 20 best GPs for effective Gram Sabhas in respect of creating improvements in the socio and economic structure of the GP in the country. And Khetri received the Rastriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award during 2015-16
